[excerpt] => When you look at the Brescia horizon, it’s easy to spot the big castle that stands on top of Cidneo Hill. Known as the Falcon of Italy, the Castle of Brescia is one of the largest and best preserved fortresses of Northern Italy and it was the first place Fotostrasse visited in Brescia during our days at Blogville Lombardy.

Half of my time was focused in Milan with the other portion dedicated to visiting scenic rural places such as Chiavenna and Bergamo. In Milan, I was surprised by the diversity of activities on offer. Even more fascinating to me was how easy it was to escape the city and be fully immersed in the countryside.

[excerpt] => All of Italy is great, but the north to me is a little less chaotic than its southern cousins and with a little exploration, I’ve discovered some amazing places to visit throughout the area. One of my favorite regions though is known as Lombardy (or Lombardia); its most well known city is I’m sure familiar to you as well – Milan.
